Areas of Support

I provide support across a range of areas, described below. If you are unsure if I am the right fit for you, please get in touch and we can discuss your needs.

Couples and throuple therapy for life transitions and fertility – online psychologist New Zealand

Sex and intimacy

Exploring sexuality, desire, and intimacy are unique to each individual. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you, and your partner(s), to navigate these experiences so that you can gain confidence in and out of the bedroom.

Areas I have focused on include pain/discomfort during sex, erectile dysfunction, impact of fertility treatment on sexuality and intimacy, changes in desire over time, sexuality, exploration of sexuality with self and others, sexual identity.

Relationship Exploration

I offer space for couples+ to explore their relationship. Whether it is to strengthen their bond, develop interpersonal skills, or seeking repair following an experience of infidelity/loss of trust.

The predominant focus of these sessions is to ensure all involved have room to discuss what is coming up for them in a safe-non-judgmental environment and to leave with tools to continue addressing concerns when the session comes to an end.

Fertility and Reproductive Health

Whether you’re experiencing gynaecological/andrological health concerns or trying to conceive (or both), I am here to support you as you as you navigate your thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a safe space. Together we will explore the impact of these experiences on your day-to-day life and develop strategies to help you cope and regain your sense of identity.

I currently work at Fertility Associates. If you are in active treatment with FA and are seeking support, please contact your local clinic.

Grief counselling and loss support with registered psychologist Kaitlin Allen, virtual New Zealand

Grief and loss

The experience of grief can be numbing, painful, and all encompassing. My goal is to help you navigate both fresh and long-standing grief to help you develop tools and strategies to cope in those moments so the grief can move along side you rather than stop or guide you. I have extensive background supporting people who experience fertility related grief such as loss of pathway, miscarriage/pregnancy loss, termination of pregnancy, and baby loss.

Adjustment

Adjustment to new stages of life can be rife with uncertainty. I offer a supportive environment to people who are adjusting to a number of pathways, with a special focus on adjusting to pregnancy, adjusting to parenthood (e.g. loss of identity; postpartum low mood or anxiety), adjusting to a different family size than expected, and adjusting to life without children.

Gamete Donation & Surrogacy

Through my work with Fertility Associates, I have had the privilege of providing therapeutic support and thought exploration to people before, during, and after egg/sperm donation and surrogacy.

Understanding ones unique conception story can have a significant impact on their sense of self and wellbeing. I offer a safe environment to those seeking help supporting their donor conceived children to understand their conception story and helping donor conceived people navigate their experience of being donor conceived.

I currently work at Fertility Associates. If you are in active treatment with FA, or are a child of a previous FA donation recipient, and are seeking support, please contact your local clinic.
